By the feet...

Hello my ppls... sorry that I haven't been able to drop by as often as I used to. I've been so busy, no a little busy, but laundry piled up busy... I did catch up with the laundry today though... ; )

Getting used to a routine when your kids start School is tricky. My son is one of the very few, I'm sure, that wakes up a whole lot, way too much, too early. Maybe it's the age... I remember my Mom trying to drag me by my feet to make me wake up. At some point I decided I would make the most out of my sleeping time and slept with my uniform and socks on, this way I could wake up last minute, put my shoes on and head out.... yeap, no morning shower & maaaad bed hair. I try forcing (not literally, but kinda' ; ) him back into bed, nope. He demands we wake up too. This crazy kid came out just like his Daddy... ; )

Mornings go like this; feeding baby while having a coffee (that my, gloriously helping and loving, husband makes for me TG) and yelling at Markus 'cause he stands up from the table every two seconds and this turns his b.fast time into an hour long ordeal. The alarm that tells me, get going, goes off... After waiting for his hour long b.fast time, he wants to do it all by himself, he showers, brushes his teeth and then wants to put his own clothes and shoes.... alarm goes off a 2nd time... I smash on some blush and gloss, cause I refuse to leave the house looking as if I just woke up and got going, as I used to when I was growing up... hehehe... I come to see how Marky's doing and he's still deciding with which foot to start... alarm goes off for the 3rd time... Olivia goes in the stroller and cries cause I leave her there while I search for the gate remote, I can't leave if I don't have it... Meanwhile, Marky is still struggling with his shoes and won't let me help... a terribly cute, but also, terribly hard stage too... for Mommy!.... seriously, to have enough patience to not loose it at some point... I'm telling you, like in a movie... Truth is, as soon as we're out the door, ahhhh.. it's all good! I realized my hubs set up the alarm way in advance so I'm no late... Hurray for diligent and responsible husbands!!!! : ) How messy my life would be without my S. ❤

By the time I come back home from dropping Marky up,  Olivia goes in for her morning nap and I-just-crash... brain dead... By the time I gather the energy to get the house chores kicking I have to walk out to pick him up... this means, I left the morning chores hanging (laundry) cause afternoon chores begin (cooking).

I'm getting used to it by now & it's all good.... I feel for the Mommy's out there, that on top of it all, have to go out and work... Champs...

In the meantime, I'm exploring new Traditional markets around town, searching for a hanbok for Livy, as her Dol  is around the corner. Getting my crafts on, even though I would like to do some crazy party with all of Marky's new School friends : D and my new bus stop Mom friends, I can't, since we take off the day after for San Francisco for our very dear friends, David and Laura's wedding. We will do a little happy birthday singing though... and she WILL have a hanbok! Cccccccuuuute....

I'm also learning my Korean and I've realized how much I already know, but at the same time how little I know...

And so, this is what we've been up to...

Busy attending our little guys busy life... parks, playdates & birthday parties ❤...

Going around the markets like Myeongdong & Namdaemun...

We found a sitter...Hurrayyyy.... so we can now go out once in a while : )

What we've been up to...

Hi! I feel it's been so long... hummm, maybe cause it has!.... sorry : /
We've been out & about...
Since we moved we've done so many things, nothing crazy or too adventurous. We've just been getting to know the area.

The first time I did a post in this blog, was 6 months after we moved to Seoul. I explored and got to know a little bit about the City. I wanted to have things to tell. Now I felt the same way. It has been a while since I posted something, because I wanted to get to know our new neighborhood before I started fully blogging again.
It's been great!
In this time I've been able to find a School for Marky & one for myself (to learn Korean). We also, have a Korean friend that's gonna stop by once a week to tutor me.
I found a Church with an English and a Spanish Mass.

mixed kids, american-korean mixed kids, asian-american mixed kids, boricuas en Korea, latin-asian mixed kids

We've enjoyed the last bits of the Summer...

namsan park, boricuas en korea, boricuas en corea, latinos en corea, expats in Korea

& our new house... & it's patio... : )

& finding a Supermarket that has AMERICAN food!!!
I almost heard singing angels as I was walking in... : )

We've learned to use the Bus... Marky's dream of riding Tayo, came true!

We've walked all over the surrounding areas, like Itaewon and the Han River...

Namsan Park, Namsan walk, Korean nature, Boricuas en Korea, living in Seoul,

We went through a very big, but weak, Typhoon... and another one two days after...

We took the kids to Children's Grand Park... will do a post on it later!

mixed kids, asian-american, latin-korean,

And we took our son to his very first day to School... Today...
I'm still emotional about it. Marky has been with me, all through out his 3 years. He went to Montessori for a bit, in PR and he loved it... until we moved here. When we first got here, we put him in a Korean speaking "pre-school". We thought it would be good for him, so he wouldn't get bored at home... It wasn't
He was there for like 2 months and he came home crying every single day. He refused to go and as soon as he came home he would tell me, he did not want to go back. One day on a School trip he ran off and the teachers couldn't call him. They didn't speak English, he didn't speak Korean... I viewed my baby lost in this gigantic city, not knowing anything about anything...
That was it... No thank you...

& so we moved to the English hood... hehehe...

I'm happy that we found a School he REALLY likes, no crying! Montessori'esh type of educational system, and with Teachers and kids that speak English!
He came home beaming!

Him having a good day, makes my day...any day!

Till' very soon... promise... : )

xoxo
